Opinion and premise are two different things...as it turns out, many people don't realize this. It seems especially relevant in the squabbles between atheists and theists, theism being the belief popularly prone to attack.
I myself being wedged between theists such as my girlfriend, family, and many friends and atheists such as coworkers and various other friends. Of course I respect their views but some arguments I hear just baffle me. Circular reasoning is very popular among theists who don't argue rationally and criticism is the weapon of choice by atheists but the fact of the matter is neither one of these are solid arguments for their beliefs. Examples of these two such as "Because the bible says so.." is irrelevant to the argument for theists because it is as I stated; circular reasoning and "Religion is stupid because it has caused so many wars" only attacks the actions of PEOPLE, not religion or the existence for a god.
The very short point I am getting at and hope people will understand is that if you yourself cannot sit down and debate a rational premise of your beliefs to please refrain from spreading your nearsighted and underdeveloped views to the outside world. This is not an attack on either belief, rather, the people who solely stand behind their clever criticism and bibles to make their points. You are giving people the idea that it is OK to stop thinking and are deteriorating minds of generations to come.
